Welcome to Orpheus Theatre Arts

We warmly welcome you to Orpheus Theatre Arts, an independent, family-run performing arts school where young performers are supported, challenged, and inspired to grow in confidence, creativity, and craft.

Founded and led by us as principals, Orpheus was created with a simple belief: that exceptional training should feel personal, nurturing, and purposeful. We are not a franchise. Every child who walks through our doors is known, encouraged, and guided as an individual.

We run on Saturdays during term time, offering high-quality training in Musical Theatre and Performance Craft for children aged 7-16 years. Our sessions are designed to develop strong technical foundations while also nurturing self-expression, teamwork, and resilience; skills that reach far beyond the stage.

At Orpheus, we celebrate effort as much as achievement, professionalism alongside joy, and ambition balanced with care. Whether your child dreams of a future in the performing arts or simply wants to build confidence and find their voice, they will be supported every step of the way.

We look forward to welcoming your family into ours.

The Orpheus Way.

About Us

  • Built with intention. Led by experience.

Orpheus Theatre Arts was created with a purpose. Not a franchise, but as a carefully considered training environment led by those with relevant, real-world industry experience.

We focus on quality over scale, ensuring each student is seen, supported and challenged.

  • Nurturing

We create a supportive environment for all our students. At Orpheus, confidence is built through patience and positive guidance, allowing each young performer to develop and grow at their own pace, enabling them to reach their full potential.

    Inspiring

We aim to spark curiosity, ambition and genuine love for performing. Through relevant training, real industry insight and passionate teaching, we inspire students to embrace their voice, both on stage and beyond.

    Professional

We take our responsibility seriously. We model professionalism in the studio whilst being led by experienced industry professionals who understand training and the realities of the theatre industry today. We prepare our students by building strong foundations in discipline and respect.

  • Orpheus was founded by two industry professionals with a shared belief: that young performers deserve training that is relevant, thoughtful and rooted in genuine experience.

After years of industry work, teaching and working within large performing arts franchises, we experienced both the strengths, and also the gaps. We wanted to create something personal.

Alongside our core teaching team, we are supported by a circle of trusted industry professionals. Performers, creatives and practitioners who bring fresh insight, inspiration and real-world perspective into our training.

At its heart, Orpheus is about people. About nurturing our students to become the best performers they can be.

  • "Lydia has been my daughter's performing arts teaching and vocal coach since 2023, and built up a fantastic working relationship with her. We love her enthusiasm and positivity as much as her passion for excellence in her field. I've got no doubt that my daughter is a better performer because of Lydia!"

    —Senior Student Parent

  • "I'm really impressed with the way Rhian and Lydia have taken my daughter under their wing and helped her become the best performer they can be. They've given her opportunities to expand her experience by taking on new parts that gently pushed her outside her comfort zone, while always finding the sweet spot that truly reflects her character and allows her to shine."

    —Junior Student Parent

  • "My child loves working woth Lydia and Rhian. Both are such supportive and engaging individuals who enjoy watching the children grow. They support children at all levels to develop, and have written and coordinated fantastic shows for students to show off their skills."
